Wow! Love being a member. We've been to 3 events so far and love getting the magazine. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for a fantastic tour! It was amazing to see the bird show from behind the scenes and to see how some of the "tricks" work! The birds are so well cared for, and the keepers make sure they all stay fit and healthy. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and friendly and very happy to answer all our questions!

Nothing can quite compare to seeing chimps up close, operating within their own 'society' - intriguing, intimidating and utterly unforgettable. Forget watching them on a nature documentary, see them behind the scenes!

Ive never been interested in birds or been much of a fan, but completely agree with the previous posters. I was lucky enough to be invited along to a behind the scenes tour of the bird show which included meeting some of the keepers as well as a close up look at the birds. WOW !!! These things are MASSIVE. Close up the birds really give you a sense of what awesome predators they could really be. Its completely different to seeing them on any national geographic type show. If you get the opportunity to be invited along - grab it - and take your friends and family. Definitely worth seeing. Thanks Taronga and thanks Zoo Friends for organising it.

We had a great day at the Zoo! We went 'behind the scenes' and saw heaps of interesting stuff... Some animals which weren't in the main exhibits, some of the inner workings of the enclosures and fascinating information from the many lovely keepers. It's the sort of stuff most people don't get to see. We'd definitely like to come back again! Thanks very much!

I loved seeing the bird show star performers behind the scenes. It was a real eye opener to learn how intelligent the birds are and how they are trained to perform in the bird show. (and what?s more how they get them back after the show). To see how affectionate the Condor was and how he loved to snuggle up to Matthew was amazing. What a great pet. Anyone who has not seen the bird show is really missing something very special.

Getting a sneak peak into the inner workings of the zoo was great! The keepers were really happy to get everyone involved and it was a classic to hear all the nicknames for the animals, thanks Zoo Friends.

A few weeks ago went to the Behind the Scenes Bird Theatre. It was absolutely brilliant. The keepers took so much care to explain how they feed and care for the animals. If you're a Zoo Friends Member you should really book in for it - fantastic!!!!
